“Tow foiling is just like snowboarding,” says Tom Carroll. “You just jump straight into it and there's just all kinds of reef to play with.” Away from the packed sardine-tinned beachies in Oz, Mr Carroll and Matt Grainger have been slinging into waves you'd usually deem unsurfable; too fat, not steep enough.
