Surf conditions at 6.55 a.m. on Thursday 28th March 2013:
What a stunner of a frost-dusted morning!
Minus three celsius but all still and clear and bright. The sea is like a tourquoise tarp., whip-cracked lightly and as smooth as oil.
There's a glidey, slidey foot or foot and a half of squeaky glass surf snapping at the sand of a dropping high tide, the sand as white as crystal above the high tide line, golden below.
Yep, the surf is small again but it is looking decidedly perfect in shape. Why can it not be like this when it's six feet plus? Maybe it will be, this weekend should show us!
Anyway, there will be a fun longboard glide to be had in that clear, clear sunshine. And with just a tiny amount of luck we might just see the start of something building on this afternoon's Spring tide. Maybe.
With the long Easter weekend about to happen, we are busily opening boxes of exciting goodies, getting stocked for what promises to be a weekend of great surf (check our weekend surf forecast!) with chilly but maybe crisp and dry weather.
We still have loads of warm and snuggly beanies and jackets which can go out at bargain prices and we do still have a selection of Winter wetsuits, boots, gloves and hoodies for you, not forgetting the groms! We have a range of youth's winter wetsuits, with all those new summer suits just about to arrive too!
So why not drop in on us this weekend, we might just have something to tempt you!
