Surf conditions at 7.20 a.m. on Saturday 10th November 2012:
This so far grey and uninteresting morning is forecast to brighten up but I don't know whether that fairly steady onshore wind is going to lighten up any time soon!
Right now there are three foot waves bumping in, with the occasional odd bigger one wandering around the bay. The wind is fairly fresh and westerly, causing some messiness but not blowing it out at all. There is some shape, especially to the set waves. You wouldn't want to see the wind get any stronger at all or veer any further from the south but with the swell forecast to build throughout the day and strengthen then maybe it will hold itself through the wind.
So, it's not great but it is okay and set to get bigger through the day.
But let's have a look see over the headland at Harlyn.........
Sad to hear of the death of legendary South African shaper Erroll Hickman. I had a couple of his shapes under my feet over the years and they rocked!
