THE EARLYBIRD SURF REPORT at 7.05 a.m. on Wednesday 3rd October 2012:
As those dark clouds of Mordor are gradually pushed away by a fresh west sou' westerly wind, a brighter but still cloud-spattered sky is ever so slowly cheering the day up. That rain last night was about as powerful as it gets but it seems to be wending its way eastwards away into the countryside.
The surf is rolling in at about four feet, maybe three to four feet, still sloppy and choppy and dark looking, still bouncing into double up peaks on the shorebreak.
It's not that great, just about surfable towards high tide but I guess that it's only going to get choppier as the tide drops back.
Let's have a little look at Harlyn.......
The Quikky Pro is up and running with Freddy P taking out a Hobgood first thing in peaky and heavy conditions. Yesterday's wipeouts were sensational and it looks like more to come. The boys on tour are having a good 'un, 28 degs C, sunshine and surf! Check the action at quiksilverlive.com/profrance/2012/live.en.html
