SOMEWHERE, Indonesia (Sunday, August 3, 2008) - Round 4 of the 2008 Rip Curl Pro Search, stop No. 6 of 11 on the 2008 ASP World Tour, will begin at 9am in excellent four-foot (1.5 metre) waves at the primary venue, ‘somewhere’ in Indonesia.
“We’ve been assessing the conditions all morning and now that the tide has reset, we’re ready to begin with the opening heats of Round 4,” Damien Hardman, Rip Curl Pro Search Contest Director, said. “We’ll be looking to run as many heats as possible today and if we’re in a position to finish, we will.”
Today will see the highly-anticipated match-ups of Fredrick Patacchia (HAW) vs. Joel Parkinson (AUS), Mick Fanning (AUS) vs. Bruce Irons (HAW), Andy Irons (HAW) vs. Chris Ward (USA) among others.
Surfline, official forecasters for the 2008 Rip Curl Pro Search, are calling for the current Southwest swell to maintain throughout the morning before fading this afternoon.
Up first will be current ASP World No. 3 Bede Durbidge (AUS) up against Dream Tour sophomore Kai Otton (AUS).
Rip Curl Pro Search Round 4 action begins at 9am.
