ANNOUNCING Northern Exposure: a photo comp for the entire European winter and eligible to anyone in Europe. Running from November 1st to March 31st (yes we will backdate the entries). The prize is 8 nights in the Turtle Bay Resort, including flights and car hire. Not just the snapper but the surfer too, courtesy of the generous bods at theperfectwave.
The comp will be judged by an independent panel from a shortlist we pull together over the winter months using the following criteria: “An aesthetic representation of winter, encompassing: scarcity, commitment, power and vulnerability in critical cold water conditions.”
Basically we are seeking those images which produce a visceral reaction, one which jumps out of the computer, trusses you up in ropes of ice and waterboards you within an inch of your life.
You can upload your pics HERE and we’ll consider all images taged with the Northern Exposure label and uploaded between November 1st and March 31st to be valid within Europe, including the Mediterranean.
- If possible caption the photos, tell us: who or what is in the shot and what happened during the wave/session/swell.
- All photos need to be 1000 pixels or more at their widest point.
- You can add to the selection if we miss any using the ‘Northern Exposure’ tag.
Entry to The Winter Session has closed for this season. The task remains of picking a pair of winners for February, then sorting through all the edits in search of an overall victor.
