Junior Content Manager

We are looking for a Junior Content Manager. A talented individual fizzing with ideas who might be looking for their first real start.

This is a junior role. It could be your first paid content role but you must be able to demonstrate why you are a suitable candidate. Perhaps you self publish?

We are seeking the person and the ability, not necessarily the qualifications.

You would be joining a small team based in Kingsbridge, South Devon (in the UK). On the job you will play a key role in creating and curating features, building the social audience and conducting interviews etc.

Perhaps you are content literate surfer who has decided uni isn't for them and is looking to impress themselves upon the world of surfing and surf forecasting? You could also be a recent graduate.

We are looking for a keen talent willing to engage in the hard work behind the scenes.

You must be enthusiastic surfer with a passion for the medium with the nous to wield the back end of a website.

You must be a social media native.

About MSW

More than 1.5 million people globally visit MSW every month. Part of the task we have set ourselves is not only to tell people when it will be pumping, but also to curate the surfing experience, to spread the science behind the creation of swells, document sessions, and tell the stories of people who chase waves and dedicate their lives to documenting waves.

Main Responsibilities

  • Responding to daily creative challenges in a flexible and inspiring manner.
  • You will be writing clean and engaging copy.
  • Share management of social media.
  • Conducting and transcribing interviews.
  • Contributing to editorial discussion and direction.
  • Work with all teams in-house to keep editorial on schedule.


  • Knowing surfing, being a surfer is a must.
  • Ability to write and possessing a solid grasp of grammar.
  • To be full of ideas, possess an opinion.
  • Knowledge of web technologies including HTML is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Photoshop and Final Cut Pro or similar.
  • Surf forecasting knowledge.


  • Push editorial to 1.5 million people daily.
  • Work for one of the top websites in the world.
  • Trade price clothing and hardware. Sometimes it is even free.
  • Surfing flexi-time.
  • Tickets and invites.
  • Statutory holiday.

Salary Expectations / Location

  • This is a junior position, salary circa £15,000.
  • Role to be based in our Kingsbridge HQ in South Devon

*You don't need to be surfer to work for us. We design and build a web application, not laze around at the beach. Although if you have an interest in it or another action sport of a similar nature you may receive a high 5 so definitely mention it.
