Business Development Manager - Digital Media, Surfstitch Group


The exciting new role of Business Development Manager will be based from our Brick Lane office in London and will be responsible for selling creative media solutions to clients and agencies in and around London.

The role will be focused on establishing a main stream consumer client base to sit alongside our existing endemic surf client base. The group’s primary media property in Europe is Magicseaweed; a world leading surf forecast platform with exceptional user numbers and engagement. Other media opportunities available to clients include Stab & Garage Entertainment, along with substantial user reach through the group’s retail platforms.

SurfStitch Group is an industry leading online global action sports and youth culture network with commerce and media capabilities. Together, SurfStitch’s Group’s websites serve a unique customer audience of over 6 million, representing a digital ecosystem capable of capturing and influencing all points of the surf and action sports lifestyle cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Establish an engaged and forward looking consumer client base, leveraging prior experience
  • Brief and oversee production of high quality professional media sales kits
  • Present to agencies and direct clients by phone and face to face meetings
  • Work with in-house product managers and software engineers to develop compelling opportunities and advertising products
  • Develop a full understanding of global editorial & production capabilities, with the aim of leveraging for further client success and profitable partnerships
  • Maintain a positive new business pipeline, communicating updates and opportunities through the business
  • Exceed Monthly and annual sales forecasts
  • Minimise unsold inventory
  • Contribute to the media businesses programmatic and network approach

Requirements

  • 3+ Years experience in consumer brand digital media sales
  • Previous and proven success in building relationships with new clients in a collaborative sales approach
  • Ability to import existing contacts that would find the SurfStitch media opportunities unique and compelling
  • Recent & relevant experience in networking and building relationships with London & major EU agencies that represent major advertisers
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to thrive from challenge and progression
  • Excited by surf & action sports; preferably an avid surfer
  • Able to work from our London office Monday - Friday
